New Jersey teen charged with sex crimes after alleged incident

|

New Jersey residents may be interested in an alleged incident involving sexual misconduct in the back of a Hoboken supermarket. A teenager is now facing charges in connection with the incident, though details about the arrest had not yet been released.

On Dec. 19, reports indicate that a 19-year-old woman was walking behind a ShopRite supermarket located on Madison Street. While the woman was walking, a teen allegedly approached her. As he got close enough, the woman claims that the man grabbed her buttocks and quickly left the scene afterwards. The woman says that she screamed and then reported the incident to police. Police examined photos from surveillance cameras and released them to the public. They asked for any information that could lead to the apprehension of a suspect.

According to reports, a teenager from Union City is now facing criminal charges for sexual misconduct. Authorities allege that the teen was the person in the surveillance photos and claim that the publication of those photos helped to lead them to the alleged perpetrator. Details of the teen's arrest and current status were unavailable at the time of early reports.

When a person is charged with a sex crime, it can have a devastating impact on their life. The charges may make it difficult to obtain employment and may lead to serious penalties, including jail time. An attorney may be able to help from the time that the person is charged, all the way through the trial. The attorney may be useful in ensuring that an individual's constitutional rights are respected by authorities during lineups and in any questioning by police. The attorney may also be able to mount a successful defense at trial, if necessary.
